Music Ministry

Praise God with Sacred Music!

St. Matthew Catholic Community needs choir members, cantors and solo instrumentalists to fill out our music ministry!

Letter of invitation to interested Parishioners.

Greetings, St. Matthew Catholic Community! I am honored to be of service to you, and I am proud to be

of assistance in the lifting of voices in song to God, as Sacred music is a beautiful form of prayer.

I am conducting rehearsals for the Sunday liturgies from 6:00 P.M., until 7:00 P.M every Wednesday,

unless otherwise noted.  If you are available to sing in the Sunday choir, but cannot attend Wednesday

rehearsals, the choir also rehearses 45 minutes before Mass. We will be delving into the rich history of

sacred music the Church has stored up over the centuries, and seeking to add an element of beauty to

the liturgy that is truly transcendent.

Also, please spread the word!  If you know someone in the parish who has a beautiful singing voice,

don’t hesitate to give them a little friendly encouragement.  They wouldn’t have to sing for all the

Sunday Masses; if they’d rather sing for the one they attend, or as their schedule allows, that’s perfectly

acceptable.  I would encourage them to attend rehearsals; that way they are familiar with the music

before they get to Mass, but it is not required.

I look forward to meeting our new choir members, and to working with you in the near future.  God’s

blessings be with you.
