Please note, weekly Religious Education by the church is REQUIRED for all Public School students in the Cedar Rapids Central Pastorate seeking to receive Sacramental Prep. Both Religious Education and Sacramental Prep begins Fall 2026. This Sacramental Prep will be in preparation for 1st Reconciliation and 1st Eucharist in Spring 2027. Please be aware, Public School students are required to sign up for BOTH Religious Education AND Sacramental Prep, which are 2 separate classes on 2 separate days.
St Matthew Religious Ed is held Sundays beginning September 13, 9:40a to 10:20a.
Sacramental Prep is held at St Patrick on Wednesdays. Please see the sign up tab for Sacramental Prep for specific dates required to attend.
K - 5th Religious Education
St Matthew Religious Ed provides weekly instruction to help children grow in their knowledge of faith, understanding of weekly Gospel readings and prayer life.
Cost: $125
Classes are held on Sundays after 8:30AM Mass.

2nd Grade Sacrament Prep
1st Eucharist and Reconciliation prep for all parishioners in the Cedar Rapids Central Area Pastorate will take place at St. Patrick Church.
